Your campaign is saved
The game saves your campaign on your device once a game day, and just before you leave the page to sign in. Open the game again and press Continue campaign on the start screen. You'll see "Campaign restored. Press play to carry on."
- Only one campaign is kept. Starting a new one replaces it.
- It's removed when the campaign ends.
- Clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.
Carrying on from another device
You don't need an account to play. If you sign in with an Earth Ablaze account, a copy of your campaign is also kept on your account, so you can carry on from another device. Only you can load it, and only one is kept.
If your device and your account hold different campaigns, the start screen offers both. Whichever you carry on with is the one kept on your account. A saved campaign is deleted within two days of you deleting your Earth Ablaze account, or after two years if you don't play.
If the game says a campaign was saved by a newer version, reload the page to update and try again. Updates can change how the game plays, and a campaign saved by an older version may not always carry over.
Nothing is on sale
The whole campaign, as either side, and the Daily S-day are free, with no ads. Nothing is on sale yet, so the store is closed. Optional packs are planned to add variety, never power: The Few, Dominion Forces, Dunkirk Fails and Sea Lion 1941. They show as Coming soon in the Add-on packs drawer.
What needs a connection
The game runs on your device, but parts of it need the internet:
- the map and the 3D battles load their terrain from the open AWS Terrain Tiles dataset;
- signing in, and carrying a campaign between devices;
- the Daily S-day leaderboards.
What's stored on your device
In your browser's local storage: your campaign, an anonymous statistics ID, your sound, music and radio settings, and the side you last played. If you sign in, the game also sets a session cookie that holds a sign-in token and nothing else. Clearing the site's data removes all of it. The radio voices are recordings that come with the game, and nothing you do is sent to a speech service.
Devices
It plays in the browser on a desktop, tablet or phone, with no install. Phones get a lighter 3D view. The map needs a browser that supports WebGL2. There's no iPhone or Android app yet.
Known limits
- It's new. Sea Lion is in active development, and the early builds are rough in places.
- It's a strategy game, not a simulator. Combat on the map resolves statistically, and the supply model is simplified and tuned to behave plausibly.
- It's a counterfactual. Units, places and equipment are real; what happens after 13 August 1940 is the game's.
- The German side speaks English, with the real German brevity words.
